Job Description

This position is responsible for customer relationship management through the effective use of technical knowledge to service and maintain Biomedical equipment throughout the hospital. The engineer in this position will:

-Be capable of leading maintenance activities through to complete customer acceptance, both technically and administratively.
-Assess situations and make efficient and effective decisions despite limited information. This involves solving problems while exhibiting professional judgment and controlling business / customer expectations.
-Be responsible for the identification and resolution of customer issues, formulating cost effective service delivery plans in conjunction with the MVS Site Management Center coordinators and then following through to produce the requisite service activity documentation in a timely manner. This will be accomplished through appropriate communication with the customer, potential outside venders, and by involving service and sales management personnel as appropriate.
-Assist in maintaining business growth through customer satisfaction. In order to do this the engineer must demonstrate ownership in difficult circumstances and demonstrate effective priority establishment in multiple event scenarios.
-The engineer will exercise sound judgment in involving both the customer and service management to address difficult issues.
-Provide communication and leadership. This will involve interacting with multiple levels in the account, performing a wide variety of tasks required to address different business needs.
-Managing the Biomedical staff in accordance with Philips MV guidelines, meeting all applicable metrics, keeping the account in good standing with JCAHO guidelines, attending meetings representing Philips and the customer in a professional manner at all times.
-Manage company assets effectively including labor time; parts inventory levels, tools, test equipment calibration, purchase orders, equipment, business expenditures, etc.
- Perform all administrative duties in a complete manner within prescribed company policies/guidelines including timesheets, service activity reporting, expense reports, preventative maintenance documentation, and other related paperwork. Attend customer meeting such as EOC, equipment planning and budget as required.
- May travel to customer sites other than the assigned site, zone office or identified locations servicing a wide variety of biomedical equipment within an assigned location and/or territory.
- Identification and resolution of customer issues, providing the customer with the appropriate communication and involving appropriate site service personnel.
- Perform a wide variety of tasks and change focus quickly as demands change. Adapt to varying needs and requirements of the customer and the business.
- Actively participate as a member of empowered work teams. Put the team ahead of individual needs and display a positive attitude.


Requirements

Education and Skill Requirements:
•Associate’s degree in Biomedical Technology / Engineering
•5-10 years experience as a biomedical technician, some supervisor experience preferred but other work experience will be considered.
•Proven leadership experience
•Demonstrated proficiency in resolving complex technical problems in designated specialty with minimal assistance.
•Experience / Knowledge of telecommunication systems.
•Experience with electronic circuit boards, processors and computer hardware including applications and programming
•PC competency
•Proficiency in Networking and DICOM desirable
•Must have valid driver’s license
- Must be available 24 x 7, when needed
